Review of LA Grocery Stores

Totally random topic, but I bought groceries today at a new store and it started making me think.

1.) Trader Joes
-um…so most everything in here is somewhat healthier than most processed grocery stores. A lot of organic choices. BUT…the amazing thing is that it’s suppppeerrr cheap and close by. Off of Riverside. Plus. they have this really amazing chocolate granola cereal that I’ve fallen in love with, soy nuggets to die for, and mouth watering spinach enchilada and sushi trays.. Other cool aspects: if you bring your own bag they put your name in a drawing for a grocery card. Really environmentally friendly.

2.) Vons
– I like Von’s because it’s close by..off of Pass Rd. and it is the closest thing to Randall’s around here. They have the Lucerne brand, which makes me happy …cause well I like it. Just sign up for a store grocery card and you’re good. Probably one of the more cheap stores. Buy produce here because Trader Joes is lacking in that department.

3.) Ralph’s
-I hear-from the Houston kids- that it’s the equivalent to Krogers? They are everywhere in the LA area. Just another grocery store. I sort of feel like it’s more expensive than TJ or Von’s but maybe that’s all in my head. Bigger store, so I’m assuming they have more to offer than the previous two.

4.) Albertson’s
–Hoozah! So Albertson’s reminds me of my childhood so I automatically love it. However out of all the options you have out here…I’d put it near the bottom of preference.

5.) YOU”RE SCREWED! if you like Walmart because those don’t exist. Your only option is Target. Walmart sucks as a corporation anyways.

I should upload so photos, but i uploaded all the good ones onto my facebook so….uhh…..maybe the next set I’ll save for the blog. Anywho….so I just got done doing some script coverge on a script called “Bsdgfadkt Casfjdkf”. I’m not sure if I can legally talk about scripts or not. Was a piece of crap. I was kinda dozing off during it. But I can’t really blame the script I guess because I’m just really tired from last night’s adventures. This is why you don’t go out on Monday nights when you have to intern the next morning. Sigh….it’s kinda boring today. But I should be blessing my lucky stars that at least I’m not having to really do anything except just sit here. Hence why I have the time to ramble on about myself right now. High point about today though is that Mike who works real close by and I are going shopping at the general mille store (Aka WB store) and then grabbing lunch. Delightful! They have really good salad bar at the lot cafeteria. I’m slightly worried that if I take this producer route my life would evolve around salad bar highlights. Kinda sad.

So I’m doing this for a grade. I have to talk about my experiences as an intern in LA etc. (hmm…want to know something weird? for some odd reason my craptastic laptop won’t let me view what I’m typing in the box, all my font is white. So I have no idea if I’m spelling things right. Oh, if I highlight the post I can see what I wrote. interesting. It’s like writing in invisible ink . Tres Bond. Ok, well I’ll probably start writing my mindless and disconnected thoughts from week one tomorrow. Or later tonight. Who cares? exactly.

Event: The Great Depression-housewarming party

Where: Our house

When: Last nightIn honor of the economies current situation we invited our 100 or so closest friends to our house in order to break it in. It was semi-formal dress/hobo chic.

Attendance: 60 or so.

Run time: 10pm-3:45am

Highlights:

Kara’s outfit. By far one of the better ones.

Roasting marshmellows

Meeting the neighbors who all came over (uninvited. hmph…what kind of people do they think we are) Though the neighbors are really nice and I’m glad we finally met them.

Jeff stumbling around from person to person and everyone being like “whoa, man he’s sloshed.”

Walking into my bathroom later and finding tons of makeup lying around (none of which was mine) and a few beer bottles. Disgusting. Also why won;t my toilet properly flush now?

All in all a good turn out. I might have secured my new roomies for next year. Some new friends, Samantha and Stephanie and Bree, and we all decided on a pretty nice apartment with one room being the “mattress room”. Where we stack a bunch of mattresses and then we were going to record Samantha (after gaining 10 pounds) rolling around on them in her sweats and declaring how low our prices are in comparison to other mattress sellers.

It is uh….going to be a pretty….uh, a pretty, pretty good year.

I was lying in bed, and I heard foot steps. except that the foot steps sounded like bongos. And the steps were in time with an 8 count. Anyways, I woke up and started stressing cause someone was breaking in, and I glanced around and realized that the bed was covered in blood and the room was growing.

Dream 3

I only remember bits and details. But it was moving in day or something, and this guy named Harrison, Raj, and Samir and Bruno were all my roommates. The house was different then from the one we have now, but it was in the same location. We were complaining about parking, but the land lords told us to just spread out down the street and find something. Suddenly one of the roommates was a girl, and she parked her car up on a sidewalk and was telling the police officer that it was ok to park there cause she lived on the block. I was trying to squeeze my car into the tiny parking spot, when all of the sudden I hit the land lords truck. And I never told them.
